How are we going to capture our live energy in the studio, was an important question DI-RECT asked itself when the band entered the studio at the beginning of this year. Initially, the band retreated into the rehearsal room to work on the next album. This resulted in a very productive period. Musically, the band went in a new direction and on a few songs added horns. This musical direction felt so fresh that DI-RECT has already played a lot of new work during the festival season. To maintain this energy, the band has chosen to release four new tracks after the summer, even before the entire album has been recorded.
Fired Up is a song where everything clicked together, an existing idea completed with a fresh idea. When you're making something new and the energy suddenly shoots through the roof, you know you're on the right track (Bas van Wageningen). On the Fired Up EP, DI-RECT has chosen an exciting new path with 4 fresh new tracks. To capture the live spark from the stage into the studio, DI-RECT joined forces with producers Tijmen van Wageningen & Kasper Frenkel. In the Electric Monkey studio in Amsterdam, the focus was on capturing the exit cement and joy of the new songs.
The EP is in a limited edition on CD, gone = gone!
